The following is a brief summary of proposals for the forthcoming season;
- Sunday Cycles
Sunday Cycles will continue but the time is put back to 9.30am starting from Sunday 27th November. These are leisure cycles. Last Sunday we joined up with two other leisure clubs and the occasion proved very successful and all agreed that we should join up more often. If you want to get fit for next season, now is the time to join up with us on Sundays.
- Ladies Cycle
The prospects of holding a ladies cycle marathon in Swinford is presently being considered. Various routes to suit the various categories are being considered. 100K and 100mile cycles
- Mizen to Malin
Yes indeed, these boys are serious, Mizen to Malin is on the agenda again. This proposal generated good interest and was subject to much discussion. The time scale appears to be the problem. Would this be a 2 day, 3 day or 4 day event? Nothing finalised but will be high on the agenda for the next meeting (December 5th).
Events such as those listed above do create interest and assist in promoting cycling in the area. If you have any ideas of other events you feel would benefit cyclists, do attend our next meeting in Melletts on Tuesday December 5th. The agenda for this meeting will be to finalise what events we adapt for the 2012 season and finalise dates for same. We will also arrange spinning classes in the Community Centre.
- Membership
Membership for the coming season will be taken up at next meeting.
- Coaching
An Introductory Course for Coaches will be held this coming Saturday 26th November in Ballinrobe. If you required further details, please give Padraic a call.
