Unfortunately the planned 24 hour cycle between Malin Head and Mizen Head has been postponed by Swinford Cycling Club this year.

As you may be aware, the whole concept behind organising the proposed 24 Hour Challenge was to involve local cyclists and generate an interest in  endurance cycling.  Perhaps we were over ambitious as the take up locally has not reached the desired quota, and consequently Swinford Cycle Club have decided to cancel the challenge in its present format, ie doing the challenge in less than 24hrs.  However, the club have decided to examine other alternative means of completing this  challenge and which may be viewed more favourably by interested participants.  These  alternatives will be discussed at the next meeting of the club this coming Tuesday.
I appreciate that some of you were fully committed to the 24 hour challenge and may be disappointed that the event has been cancelled but nonetheless I am sure you will understand our quandary.
