Weekly Training

Sunday Swimming

As most of you know swimming has recommenced in Ballina pool on Sunday nights from 8.15pm - 9.15pm. This is a coached session with two coaches present. The six week block currently running will end on Sunday 22nd January and a fresh six week block will begin on Sunday 29th January. Payment for the fresh 6 week block (running 29/01/12 to 04/03/12 inclusive) will be through the club web site. Depending on numbers interested the cost will be likely be between 35 and 45 euro which represents excellent value considering two coaches are present.

Wednesday Spin and Strength

The above session takes place in Swinford Community Centre from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and usually involves 1 hr to 1.15 hrs on the turbo trainer followed by supervised light weight training. This is an excellent opportunity for club members to get some time on the saddle and the time flies when training in a group. This is suitable for one and all but you must have a bike and turbo trainer to take part. The cycling club has a spare turbo trainer so if you contact myself or Padraic in advance we can make arrangements.

Sunday Cycle

Sunday Cycle continues departing Corrib Oil at 9.30am. Again this is suitable for one and all and the group will make an effort to accommodate everyone by doing shorter loops as warm up so that those who are less experienced can drop off whenever they feel like it.

N.B. You need to be a 2012 member of Swinford Tri Sports in order to take part in any club training session. This year we are accepting membership through the newly designed club web site here. Membership for the year is 20 euro. You will also be required to have 2012 Triathlon Ireland membership (min of Associate membership). This can be purchased through www.triathlonireland.com with associate membership costing 15 euro for the year. It is very important that members sign up for both. Anybody showing up to club training without the required 2012 membership will not be permitted to train and no exceptions will be made.
